The Lyretail Molly (Poecilia sphenops var.) is a stunning and graceful freshwater fish, instantly recognisable by its beautifully flowing, lyre-shaped tail fin. A favourite among both beginner and experienced aquarists across Australia, the Lyretail Molly adds elegance and movement to any tropical community aquarium.
Lyretail Mollies thrive in well-maintained tropical aquariums with stable water parameters. They are adaptable and hardy, making them an ideal choice for aquarists of all experience levels.
Lyretail Mollies are peaceful community fish that coexist well with similarly sized, non-aggressive species including guppies, platies, swordtails, corydoras, tetras, and dwarf gouramis. Avoid housing with large or aggressive fish.
As livebearers, Lyretail Mollies are one of the easiest freshwater fish to breed. Females give birth to fully formed live fry approximately every 4β6 weeks. Provide plenty of hiding spots such as live plants or shrimp caves to protect fry from other tank inhabitants.
Each Lyretail Molly is carefully selected and healthy before dispatch. We offer live arrival guarantee on all fish orders. Whether you're setting up a new community tank or adding colour to an established aquarium, the Lyretail Molly is a fantastic choice.
