Shipping Policy

At Fish Hut Aqua, we take great care in packing and shipping every order to ensure your livestock and products arrive safely. Please read the following shipping policy before placing your order.


Shipping Days

Live fish, shrimp, snails and other livestock are generally shipped on Mondays and Tuesdays only to minimise the risk of parcels being held in transit over weekends.

Orders containing dry goods only may be dispatched on other business days where possible.

Order cut-off: Saturday 1:00 PM (AEST)

Orders placed after the cut-off may be dispatched the following shipping week, depending on livestock health, stock availability, weather conditions and courier network conditions.


Shipping Methods

Australia Post

Australia Post shipping costs are calculated at checkout.

This service is suitable for most metro areas; however, delivery times to regional and remote locations may vary. Fish Hut Aqua cannot guarantee Australia Post delivery timeframes.

StarTrack Shipping & Air Freight

StarTrack Shipping and Air Freight Shipping are quoted after your order has been placed.

If you select either of these shipping methods at checkout:

  • We will calculate the shipping cost based on your location, order size and courier availability.
  • A shipping invoice will be emailed to you.
  • Your order will only be dispatched once the shipping invoice has been paid.

These services are available for eligible locations only and may not be available for every postcode.


Dispatch Delays

We reserve the right to delay dispatch where necessary, including but not limited to:

  • Poor livestock health or quarantine requirements
  • Extreme weather conditions
  • Courier disruptions or service suspensions
  • Public holidays
  • Stock availability

The welfare of our livestock always takes priority over dispatch speed.


Live Animal Shipments

All livestock are professionally packed using industry-standard methods designed to maximise survival during transit.

Although we take every precaution, live animals are sensitive and shipping always carries some level of risk.

By placing an order for live livestock, you acknowledge these risks.


Incorrect Shipping Details

Customers are responsible for providing the correct:

  • Shipping address
  • Contact number
  • Email address

Fish Hut Aqua is not responsible for delays or losses caused by incorrect customer information.

PO Boxes and Australia Post Parcel Collect addresses cannot be used for live animal shipments.


Delivery Responsibility

Please ensure someone is available to receive the parcel on the delivery day.

Livestock should be unpacked immediately upon arrival.

Fish Hut Aqua is not responsible for livestock that deteriorates after delivery due to:

  • The parcel being left unattended
  • Delayed collection
  • Incorrect acclimation
  • Unsuitable aquarium conditions


Shipping Charges

Shipping charges are non-refundable once an order has been dispatched.

If a replacement shipment is approved for any reason, the customer is responsible for paying the shipping costs unless otherwise agreed by Fish Hut Aqua.


Courier Delays

Once a parcel has been handed to the courier, delivery times are outside our control.

Courier delays may occur due to:

  • Weather events
  • Transport disruptions
  • Public holidays
  • Regional delivery routes
  • Operational delays within the courier network

Fish Hut Aqua cannot guarantee courier delivery times.


Tracking

Tracking information is emailed automatically once your order has been dispatched.
