Fish Hut Aqua & Pet Supplies is a Melbourne-based aquarium store built by hobbyists, for hobbyists.

We specialise in high-quality live fish, shrimp, snails, and aquatic plants — carefully selected, properly quarantined, and packed with attention to detail to ensure they arrive healthy and stress-free.

Unlike many online sellers, we are a real aquarium shop — not a dropshipping business. Every order is handled by us directly, with a strong focus on animal welfare, quality control, and customer experience.

🕒 Store Operating Hours

Retail Store (Display Shop)
Saturday & Sunday — 11:00am to 5:00pm

Our store operates primarily as a display and collection point, where you can view selected livestock and pick up your orders.

💻 Online Store Operating Hours

Monday to Sunday (7 Days a Week)
9:00am – 5:00pm

This includes:

• Email support
• Website chat
• Phone & text responses
• Social media messages

If you contact us outside these hours, we’ll get back to you as soon as possible on the next operating day.

📦 Shipping Information

We ship Australia-wide, with a strong focus on safe and reliable delivery of live aquarium livestock.

Shipping Days:

• Monday & Tuesday (Primary dispatch days) 
• Cut off time: Saturday 1:00pm - All orders received after this are sent the week after on Monday/Tuesday

This ensures your order does not get stuck in transit over weekends.

Why we sometimes delay shipping:
The safety of fish, shrimp, and plants comes first.
If there are:

• Courier delays
• Public holidays
• Extreme weather conditions
• Or stock quality concerns

We may hold your order briefly to ensure it arrives in the best condition possible.

We use trusted courier services such as:

• Australia Post Express
• StarTrack (recommended for faster and more reliable delivery)

Tracking details are provided as soon as your order is dispatched.

🐠 Live Arrival & Care

We take great care in packing all livestock using:

• Oxygen-rich packaging
• Insulated boxes
• Weather-appropriate materials

While we do everything possible to ensure safe delivery, we also encourage customers to:

• Be available to receive the parcel on arrival
• Avoid leaving livestock unattended outdoors
• Follow proper acclimation procedures

🌱 Quality & Sourcing

• All livestock is carefully selected and monitored
• Plants are checked before dispatch to ensure quality
• We do not ship items that do not meet our standards

If something isn’t right, we would rather delay your order than send poor-quality stock.
